Holland America Line Mariner Magazine is a loyalty piece cruise enthusiasts.

Photography is used extensively to showcase Holland America’s unique itineraries around the globe. All of the feature photography is commissioned and shot for the magazine.

Lexus Magazine is a global luxury lifestyle and travel magazine created for Lexus automobile owners. I was part of the team that launched the magazine in the US in 2002 and continued to direct the pre-press for the global edition until April 2012.

As the success of the program grew we formed a global team with our sister agency in the UK, where the book was translated in up to 16 languages. As Global Production Director it was my responsibility to ensure that all pictures and layouts in the feature well were print ready and would reproduce consistently in the US, Europe, and Asia.

We set up a digital asset management website that allowed Lexus’ partner agencies to access stories and pictures from around the world. It’s always a joy to see your work come back in different languages.

The Hair Book is produced and distributed by Regis Salons throughout

North America. I have always enjoyed working with photography of people,
but the the Hair Book brought my retouching skills of skin and faces to a
whole new level. Keeping celebrities looking natural and healthy without
looking “photoshopped” requires a great deal of subtlety and care.

The Ginny Goodwin spread is some of the best photography I’ve ever worked with.

I played a supporting roll on Endless Vacation, primarily
helping with photo-retouching and advising on workflow
solutions such as PDFx-1a and occasionally helping with
quality assurance.

Another one from the way back machine, in 1997 Apple
produced a magazine for it’s customers. This is one of
my all time favorites, Peter Gabriel and Mac OS 8…
Fortunately Steve Jobs came back to Apple shortly after this issue.

The one that got me started, Microsoft Magazine.
These were in the grand days of Quark 3.32, running on
Mac OS 7. The magazine featured tips and tricks for using
Excel, PowerPoint, and many of the home entertainment
titles that came on CD-Rom.
